In statements of faith from throughout the church's history, the PC (USA) affirms its beliefs. The first section of the denomination's constitution, known as the Book of Confessions, contains twelve statements of faith. The PC (USA) "declares to its members and to the world who and what it is, what it believes, and what it resolves to do" in the confessional statements, as per the second section of the constitution, the Book of Order. Although graphs can have a lot of text, two to four sentences are typically sufficient.
